Watershed Wise Pre-Planned Garden

Exclusive to High Country Gardens. We can all play a part in managing watersheds, which are essential to healthy ecosystems, supporting both wildlife and human life. With beautiful, easy-to-grow native plants, our Watershed Wise Pre-Planned Garden is an easy way to get started. These deep-rooted native plants are resilient and can tolerate long periods of drought, as well as wetter conditions when the rain does fall; their deep roots also help improve soil health and filter out pollutants. Not only are they beautiful, but the flowers and grasses provide food and habitat to support pollinators and wildlife, too.

Note: Watershed gardens capture rainwater as it runs off hard surfaces at home, like a roof, sidewalk, or driveway, so it can filter down through healthy soil instead of picking up pollution on its way downstream. Plant this garden in a shallow swale – a depressed area – about 6-8” deep, with sloped edges and a flat bottom, to ensure that you capture water when it rains. The Watershed Wise Pre-Planned Garden is available in two sizes, and comes with a garden map and care and planting instructions.

The large garden covers 100 sq ft and includes 18 plants:
