Description
3-4 ft. tall x 3 ft. wide. Showy Pink Milkweed variety is an essential wildflower for supporting Monarch butterflies by providing food for caterpillars and nectar for the adult butterflies. The plant blooms in the summer with big globes of fragrant pink flowers. Spreading via underground runners, pink milkweed can be a little too aggressive for formal perennial beds. This plant is best planted in less used areas where is can spread without overrunning less vigorous annuals and perennials. It’s recommended for areas of your property that collect water after a good rain. More easily grown than the Orange Butterfly Weed, this is an excellent plant for beginning gardeners. Native Range: AZ, CA, CO, IA, ID, IL, KS, MI, MN, MT, ND, NE, NM, NV, OK, OR, SD, TX, UT, WA, WI, WY. Seed propagated. 3-4′ tall x 3 ft.” wide.
