Pixie Fountain Tufted Hair Grass

An easy to grow, very cold hardy ornamental grass, Deschampsia cespitosa ‘Pixie Fountain’ (Tufted Hair Grass) is one of the few ornamental grasses that grows well in moderate shade. It is a fit for sunny to shaded gardens and woodland settings. Plant in moist, well-drained soil. Its compact form is useful as a groundcover, as path edging, and in groupings. Perfect for small spaces and in containers, it provides eye-catching blooms well into winter. The lacy plumes are lovely in bouquets and may be dried for use in arrangements.
