Description
High Country Gardens Founder, David Salman, spent decades growing Penstemons for Southwestern gardens, and Penstemon pinifolius was on the top of his list of favorite plants. Penstemon pinifolius is a great choice to pair with Lavender, Hymenoxys, Agave, and other cacti and succulents in xeric gardens. In nature, this species is variable across its range in the mountains of southwestern New Mexico and eastern Arizona, where healthy, long-lived plants healthy thrive for up to a decade or longer.
Plants in the FlowerKisser® series have been selected by High Country Gardens Founder David Salman. These new perennial introductions are particularly nectar-rich and attract many pollinators, including honey bees, native bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. The name “flower-kisser” is the translation of “beja-flor,”the Portuguese word for hummingbird!
